The Role:

YinzCam, Inc. has work-at-home Software Developers (Android) positions in Pittsburgh, PA (with the ability to telecommute with appropriate telecommuting systems; the remote worksite must be within commuting distance of Pittsburgh, PA for weekly trips to the office), responsible for participating in full software development lifecycle i.e., requirements elicitation, system design, development, and testing in order to develop the framework that drives YinzCam’s mobile applications.

• Formulating and designing software systems using Android Studio, Gradle build system, command line tools, and system version control systems (i.e., Git and Subversion).
• Writing and maintaining software for sustained performance throughput under heavy load, behavior under stress, and disaster recovery simulations to predict and measure outcome and consequences of designs.
• Conceptualizing, designing, building, deploying, and testing software before release to the app store.
• Identifying and correcting technical problems uncovered during testing and quality assurance processes to determine feasibility of software designs within time and cost constraints.
• Developing software testing procedures, programming, and documentation.
• Consulting with and advising customers and YinzCam partners regarding best software development practices and API designs.
• Performing further software development for multiple screen, form factor, and density modification/implementation.

Must have a master’s degree (or foreign equivalent) in Computer Science, Information Science, Information Technology, or a directly related field plus two (2) years of experience in a related software development position. Alternate requirement: bachelor’s degree (or foreign equivalent) in one of the above-noted fields plus five (5) years of post-baccalaureate and progressively responsible experience in a related software development position.

Must have any experience with or knowledge of each of the following:

• Java and android programming languages.
• RESTful web services using XML/JSON data formats.
• Android Studio, ADT, and command-line adb tools.
• SVN, Git, or other version control systems.
• Shell command-line and scripting.
